What's the best controller for PC gaming?

i have one its triggers are not analogue i just have the not gay wingless version

Faggot

Nintendo only

ok boomer

Yeah, it's not for fighting games. I personally love the boxes, though. Sometimes precise diagonal movement can come in handy.

>hollow knight
HK doesn't have analog movement, it's perfectly playable on M+KB
shit like celeste would be a nightmare tho

i completely agree, for me its about ergonomcs. i actually do better on a pad since there is less movement distance HOWEVER my left thumb is usually sore after playing SFV for several hours at a time. i am never sore after hours of using a fightstick though since joint fatigue is spread across the entire hand and wrist and its many joints. hate to sounds like a boomer, but i am getting older and when i'm constantly hurting my thumb by controller a fighting character with a single hinge joint (the thumb is classified as a hinge joint) instead of spreading it across several joints i can't help but think i'm predisposing myself to premature arthritis with a dpad.

>Yeah, it's not for fighting games.

I donno about that. The d-pad on that works really well with Melty Blood. That's a fighting game.

I have them all. I don't really use the Switch Pro controller for PC gaming but Dualshock 4, Xbone and Steam Controller all work fine with different pros and cons. The Steam Controller works really well with shooters and games that require mouse cursor movement. It's usable with other games but your mileage is going to vary a lot, although if you were going to play exclusively on a steam controller you could get used to it.

Dualshock 4 and Xbone are functionally very similar. Offset sticks is a meme and the only reason I can see it being more comfortable is if you have fuck huge thumbs, because 99% of people's thumbs are not going to bump into each other. I prefer the ergonomics of the Dualshock 4 and I feel like it's a more versitile controller overall for switching between 2D and 3D games. It also has a built in rechargeable battery, which the other two controllers don't.

The strengths of the Xbox One controller are that it's got official drivers, you can use the headphone jack, and there's an optional chatpad attachment that can be really helpful in some games. Typing on the dualshock 4 and steam controller isn't too bad but it's very slow compared to the chat pad, since it's all touch based, whereas an xbox one controller with no chatpad is the slowest on-screen typing option.

Honestly, if you want an economical and intuitive option, just get the Dualshock 4. Steam Controller is great for the niche it fills (FPS / point and click controller) but is a bit more clumsy for games designed around standard gamepads, and the Xbox One has some good options for couch play, but you will have to spend a lot on accessories. With Dualshock 4 you only need the controller and a bluetooth dongle, and you're done.

The Steam Controller is a bit more difficult to recommend than the others because the first time you use one, you are probably not going to like it if you're used to regular controllers. It will grow on you if you give it time, so I would say it deserves a chance.
