Take your meds schizo.
What game are you playing? I have an old 360 controller and it hasn't failed me yet. Also an arcade stick for fighting games and STGs
>still no Steam Controller 2 announcement
Any day now, any day now...
I switch between Switch Pro and DS4 depending on the game type and if I need a good dpad or not.
for shooters keyboard and mouse for everything else ever xbox one or xbox 360 controller wired only official
Xbox/PS4 are preferential.
Steam Controller is a jack of all trades but a master of none. I love mine and use it religiously, but it has nothing over a standard controller/m+kb except for the functionality to be both.
I use 8Bitdo with a cheap bluetooth dongle. Works fairly well on PC.
I also use that same controller for my switch. Beat the entire Breath of the Wild on this controller. Really long battery life before you gotta charge it.
the logic 3 PS2 clone controller
left joycon
because you'd be a fool to not use the mouse whenever you can
thats for switch not for PC

Patent on Steam Controller 2 got updated yesterday.
mouse and keyboard
you wanna use a controller? go play on console
I've been loving my Steam Controller, but I've only really used it for FPSes, and a few 3D Platformers that would benefit from it.
If I'm not playing one of those, I'm using my Dualshock 4.
I bought one of those 8bitdo controllers, thought it would be too small and shit in general, but it's actually pretty good for 2D games, kinda iffy for FPS though
play hollow knight with a mouse and keyboard
DS4 is great if you don't want to splurge on some autistic fighting stick and still be decent at Tekken 7.
For everything else X1 V1 controller no doubt, with the X360 controller falling slightly behind it.
Imbecile
I use the xbone Duke controller
Every other controller feels tiny now
>8shitdo
>Not realizing one of the benefits of PC is using any controller you want
Faggot.
Next you'll tell me Dark Souls on M+KB was fine
Some like the SF30 work on PC as well.
I use xbone because of plug n play
Do not question the trips, you fool.
And I've been playing Super Neptunia RPG on Steam using that very same controller.
i know it works but its not for PC thats what xbone controllers are for
Not him but the KB+M controls for DS2 and onward weren't actually all that bad
> thats for switch not for PC
ironically, you can use the switch pro controller on PC. Not to mention you can already use ps4 and xbone controller on PC as well.
It's a wonder why you'd think it won't work on PC...
it will work but its not for PC
Am a poorfag who's still alternating between the 360/DS3 controllers and finding nothing wrong with that, so those I guess.
>i know it works but its not for PC thats what xbone controllers are for
They literary advertise it for PC at times and other times for switch. It works for both.
Is this possible? If so I'd like to try it.
Only thing wrong with the DS3 is how light it is, but both of those are perfectly serviceable. I was using the same wired 360 controller I'd had for 14 years until a few months ago.
>Hitbox for fightan vidya
>M + KB for FPS
>Xbone controller for everything else
>>Steam controller if you are actually based and know what to configure for your needs
Still did not master the last controller, but one day I will...
>it will work but its not for PC
ok boomer.
i dont care what they advertise it for its for switch it doesnt have analogue triggers
I think I remembered hearing something about how they fixed them
Been using this one for over 10 years.
Still works perfectly.
Steam controller of course. Touchpads are vastly superior to sticks for movement and camera and also versatile as fuck. Plus a couple extra buttons and gyro really help. The only thing wrong with it is super shitty bumpers but I just assign stick clicks to them to it's still an improvement over regular controllers.
>Application status is Pending
I don't know if that really means much, but it's SOMETHING. Thanks for the update.
see
fightstick for fighting games, mouse+keyboard for literally everything else.
if i have to pick one playstation 4 pad obviously. xbox is not symmetrical and too bulky, steam's pad is too experimental and wiimote tier garbage.
you do know the ps4 control has gyro right?
>it doesnt have analogue triggers
it does
>are you mentally retarded?
If yes, steam controller
>are you fat?
If yes, xbox
Else ps4
I like the dpad on that for melty blood. But I hate how the analog sticks movement is a fucking box instead of a circle.
Xboxone works well for most things but between windows built in controller usb shit, steam, some vjoy shit I had a long time ago, and emulators themselves having trouble with controllers I’m mostly just stumbling through the compatibility until it just works with most things.
Yeah I prefer this one over all other current first party controllers. I like the Gameboy color scheme better though
fightsticks are a meme. You can play fighting games just as good with a controller.
>PC gaming
What that garbage ?
i have one its triggers are not analogue i just have the not gay wingless version
Faggot
Nintendo only
ok boomer
Yeah, it's not for fighting games. I personally love the boxes, though. Sometimes precise diagonal movement can come in handy.
ok boomer
>hollow knight
HK doesn't have analog movement, it's perfectly playable on M+KB
shit like celeste would be a nightmare tho
i completely agree, for me its about ergonomcs. i actually do better on a pad since there is less movement distance HOWEVER my left thumb is usually sore after playing SFV for several hours at a time. i am never sore after hours of using a fightstick though since joint fatigue is spread across the entire hand and wrist and its many joints. hate to sounds like a boomer, but i am getting older and when i'm constantly hurting my thumb by controller a fighting character with a single hinge joint (the thumb is classified as a hinge joint) instead of spreading it across several joints i can't help but think i'm predisposing myself to premature arthritis with a dpad.
>Yeah, it's not for fighting games.
I donno about that. The d-pad on that works really well with Melty Blood. That's a fighting game.
I have them all. I don't really use the Switch Pro controller for PC gaming but Dualshock 4, Xbone and Steam Controller all work fine with different pros and cons. The Steam Controller works really well with shooters and games that require mouse cursor movement. It's usable with other games but your mileage is going to vary a lot, although if you were going to play exclusively on a steam controller you could get used to it.
Dualshock 4 and Xbone are functionally very similar. Offset sticks is a meme and the only reason I can see it being more comfortable is if you have fuck huge thumbs, because 99% of people's thumbs are not going to bump into each other. I prefer the ergonomics of the Dualshock 4 and I feel like it's a more versitile controller overall for switching between 2D and 3D games. It also has a built in rechargeable battery, which the other two controllers don't.
The strengths of the Xbox One controller are that it's got official drivers, you can use the headphone jack, and there's an optional chatpad attachment that can be really helpful in some games. Typing on the dualshock 4 and steam controller isn't too bad but it's very slow compared to the chat pad, since it's all touch based, whereas an xbox one controller with no chatpad is the slowest on-screen typing option.
Honestly, if you want an economical and intuitive option, just get the Dualshock 4. Steam Controller is great for the niche it fills (FPS / point and click controller) but is a bit more clumsy for games designed around standard gamepads, and the Xbox One has some good options for couch play, but you will have to spend a lot on accessories. With Dualshock 4 you only need the controller and a bluetooth dongle, and you're done.
The Steam Controller is a bit more difficult to recommend than the others because the first time you use one, you are probably not going to like it if you're used to regular controllers. It will grow on you if you give it time, so I would say it deserves a chance.
It's whatever you are most comfortable with
this except keyboard
i love how fightstick fags tell everyone that keyboard is unplayable while simultaneously calling for hitbox controllers to be banned at tournaments
