Shit dub or not, people should play eternia.
I feel like it's pretty much forgotten and it's still a great game.
The fast paced 2d battle system held up well.
Destiny and Phantasia are a lot rougher in comparison

It got a 13 episode anime series, a rerelease on the PSP, Japan still considers it one of the best Tales games, Reid is still a constant guest in the gummi videos.

Berseria is the best I've played combat wise. Favorite is Abyss. Playing Vesperia as I type. My impressions so far
>all party members are boring [princess, a wolf with a knife and a kid swining some giant axe]
>story is about this poor fucker chasing his cop homolust
>combat is basically spam attack button with the stick pointed somewhere + special finisher
>overworld is boring
>enemies are boring
>hardest difficulty isnt worth the hassle
>main character is voiced by inuzuka kiba from naruto so there is an implied subtle disrespect towards him i cant shake
But since people are saying its good I'll keep pushing for a while longer. So far not really impressed, but I know for a fact tales games tend to pick up the pace at some point. For me it was Laphi's death in berseria and the general gods introduction in Abyss. Lets see if vesperia manages to do it.

They said in that recent interview that they were considering having voice actor events like Tales Fes in the west.
Would anyone here go? I wouldn't, but I'm curious if there really is an audience for that stuff in the west.

Yeah the combat takes a while to open up in Vesperia but once the game lets you do shit like Fatal Strikes and overlimits then suddenly there's a million more things you can do in battle.
What? Abyss is one of the easiest PS2 games to emulate, it's had perfect emulation since like 2010.

It's not like that Persona anime. It has all the same characters, it's just a filler arc that that takes place right before they leave Inferia. But they got the characterization of all the party members right. The whole series is on yt
