wow it's almost as if puzzle games are inherently garbage or something.
Yeah I know, but it's an interesting question. Maybe limit the number of moves you can do in a New game so you have to find more efficient solutions.
I just find it boring.
I like puzzle games that either ask you to be creative, like programming simulators, or ones that at least have an interesting story or setting, like some adventure games.
Baba is You is quite original and novel, but at the end of the day it mostly boils down to finding the one correct path and pushing "blocks" in the right spot. It's like having to guess a combination. It's challenging, but in a dull kind of way where it doesn't feel like I'm getting more skilled or proficient.
>dude just glitch through the wall in this one obscure way that is never utilized again haha
Did you do it? Or did you realize the answer and just quit.

I made these
Zachtronics games basically ask you to program under different guises, and use different metrics to value your proficiency. Solving the "puzzles" can be challenging in and of itself, but you're also pushed to optimize your solutions in different regards - solutions that solve the problem the fastest, solutions that use the least amount of instructions and so on. Conversely you can make the most wasteful and roundabout solutions you can conceive, or solutions that just look aesthetically pleasing like clockwork.
