It introduces new mechanics without explaining how they work

Can't kiss Baba.

Baba should have a cute little tail.

Behavior of NOT and LEVEL tiles is somewhat arbitrary.

Barely a game. Doesn't require actual problem solving. It's great for dumb people who like easy "puzzles" to make them feel smart, I guess.

It's reddit

its a fucking puzzle game

>some words are super underused only appearing in a couple of levels
>some block interaction aren't intuitive and require a lot of trial and error to figure out
>a handful of levels require stupid amounts of block pushing even when the solution is fairly obvious
>the world map opens up to quickly allowing players to burn out all the easy levels while not really learning how the game works and then being frustrasted and stuck on a billion levels that are too hard for them
>swap

Imagine being this stupid.

not enough CUNNY

It's pretentious and insists upon itself.

I saw the reddit twist coming a mile away. As soon as I got to the main map for the first time I knew exactly what was going to happen eventually.

It's very easy.

Baba isn't me

no replay value

How could you have a puzzle game that is both tightly designed and has replay value?
Randomization makes it virtually inevitable that the puzzles aren't as focused as they should be.

>create sentence "Baba Is Me"
>Baba is now Me
checkmate, user

I want to kill you so badly

>Responding to bait

wow it's almost as if puzzle games are inherently garbage or something.

Yeah I know, but it's an interesting question. Maybe limit the number of moves you can do in a New game so you have to find more efficient solutions.

I just find it boring.
I like puzzle games that either ask you to be creative, like programming simulators, or ones that at least have an interesting story or setting, like some adventure games.
Baba is You is quite original and novel, but at the end of the day it mostly boils down to finding the one correct path and pushing "blocks" in the right spot. It's like having to guess a combination. It's challenging, but in a dull kind of way where it doesn't feel like I'm getting more skilled or proficient.

>dude just glitch through the wall in this one obscure way that is never utilized again haha

Did you do it? Or did you realize the answer and just quit.

>reddit twist

I made these

Zachtronics games basically ask you to program under different guises, and use different metrics to value your proficiency. Solving the "puzzles" can be challenging in and of itself, but you're also pushed to optimize your solutions in different regards - solutions that solve the problem the fastest, solutions that use the least amount of instructions and so on. Conversely you can make the most wasteful and roundabout solutions you can conceive, or solutions that just look aesthetically pleasing like clockwork.

Nothing, it is good if you like that genre but I can't be arsed to waste 20 minutes figuring a puzzle just so I can get a more difficult puzzle, especially when it doesn't translate to any real life skill. I'd rather waste that time learning math of a new language instead.

empty

I love how the optimization meta is completely ancillary to enjoying zach's games on a casual playthrough but for people itching for more it gives me a reason to go back to what's otherwise a done stage.

I'm a brainlet and got stuck but I'm too stubborn to look up a guide

Are Zachtronics games brainlet friendly?

The fact all worlds are themed around a single block makes it so you can find the solution to most levels in just a few seconds, all you have to do is imagine a solution where the world's thematic block plays a large role around the solution.

This can be argued for literally any genre.

opus magnum is probably the easiest one to get into but if you're a complete retard and have no patience you'll slam into a brick wall at some point and give up.
Everyone has a point while playing zachtronics games where they bow out and accept that they're too dumb to continue (unless they are engineer-tier so they need to up the dosage to get that dopamine), so don't feel too bad about that.

Help.

Some of them are friendlier than others.
Opus Magnum is probably the easiest, it's mostly visual and it probably can't even be considered programming. Infinifactory can get quite complex, but it's probably the easiest one to understand since it looks like Minecraft and it's mostly about putting down blocks.
The later puzzles of all of the games can get quite complicated, statistically not many people manage to finish the games, but they're still a stimulating ride.

Too hard

Think about why you are allowed to push WALL is STOP up and down.

Without even reading the thread I can tell someone already posted something like "Zachtronics is better" because this game just makes people hyper defensive for some reason like ETG and other popular indies people like.

Other games are fun and/or relaxing

user, let's work backwards from the winstate together.
>you need to get win
>wall is in the way and is stop
>but you need wall to not be stop
>what can you do with wall is stop?
>why is keke here with you? only things you can do with keke is make him push, you, wall (lol), or stop but those last 2 don't sound useful
what's stopping you from putting things on top of keke and then becoming keke

haha look at them go

Too hard for my puny brain.

Cute.

gameplay first always, you fucking console peasant

challenge is fun, spammer

Gameplay comes first, and it doesn't look all that fun to me. That's why I checked to see if it was throwaway cheap, like £5, in which case I don't care if it's bad.
But all I'm getting is bad vibes now.

>being a graphics fag
Yes.

Baba Is Flawed

There you go.

You is frugal

I can't beat it :(

It's good value for money. took me about 45 hours to 100% it, which is really good for a puzzle game.

>clearly hasn't actually tried replaying
It's incredibly easy to forget how some of the puzzles were solved.

It made me realize I'm a brainlet.

The devs retconned certain effects.
meaning that older solutions became not possible anymore.
meaning the only flaw the game has its is developers.

You informed me of this game's existence.
