Can we say for certain that Sekiro is in the top 3 hardest From games ever made?
The amount of people who gave up after not being able to beat the Ogre or General miniboss is just staggering
Sekiro

more like in the Top 1.

I think the dlc for ds3 is still harder
Sekiro is fun but it isn't hard.
tell that to everyone who got filtered by the game here
I finished it, but I wish games like these were slightly less difficult at times. I love the world building and setting, and sometimes I find some bosses so frustrating to get through like that fucking double ape fight.
Still, I know it's better than the game being too easy. I guess I wish more directors understood what makes Soulsborne games appealing aside from the difficulty.
double ape is actually easy.
For example you could just spam firecrackers at the brown ape and fill her posture bar completely in like 3 firecrackers
hell maybe the top 2 even
No, literally any bullet hell shooter is hard. People just refuse to adapt to sekiro. It's a very unique in the way it challenges players but that serves to make people think its more punishing than it is
Doesnt help that most of the players who got filtered came from dark souls
I got filtered hard and gave the game up (despite really enjoying the combat and movement) and I think the problem is that if you try to play it as just an action game, it's brutally difficult, and you have to play it well as an RPG (listening to NPCs, learning the environment, etc. so you can find tools and techniques that exploit weaknesses or sneak past optional fights that are designed to be super hard) to stand a reasonable shot without just being a fucking master of parry timing.
I couldn't break myself of the habit of running directly toward everything that had a health bar and not moving on until it was fucking dead, not stopping to do anything else.
>dark souls "veteran" couldnt get past the second miniboss
Okay, now name one bullet hell sum up that FROM SOFTWARE made.
Read OP again you pedant.
it's only difficult when you first start, and when you play charmless
According to Steam achievements about a third of owners beat Sword Saint Isshin. If that's the case then it's actually the easiest by far.
Perhaps. I gave up at Isshin. Killing Genichiro every fucking time got to me after a while. Demon of Hatred was great though
And according to Xbox achievements, only 28% of the players could beat Genichiro at the top of the castle
The combat is super forgiving dude, a perfect parry is 30 frames (in dark souls a parry is around 6 frames)
You don't have to parry all the time, blocking works well also
At what boss did you give up?
Definitely the hardest of the ones I've played. At least in Souls games you can beat any boss easily if you are prepared with the correct stats. There is no equivalent to that in Sekiro. I barely managed to finish the game. Pretty much every boss was harder for me than Orphan of Kos.
I'd say dark souls 2 DLC was harder but for more bullshit reasons. Sekiro is hard but fair most of the time
Here's an easy mode pro tip but just know it may ruin the game
stay close to enemies and literally just spam L1
I’ve only just started so maybe it’s because I’m still getting used to the game and it’s rhythm, but Sekiro seems way harder. Only thing hard about DS3 DLC was Friede, because they stuck a BB boss in Dark Souls, and Midir if you’re too dumb to work out the positioning.
IKUZO
>dlc is harder
I started a new game just for the newest dlc, cheated myself to 150 and breezed through it
It’s the best From game and it’s obvious. Anyone in denial is usually one of those really pathetic fanboys for either one of the Souls games or Bloodborne
>people thought Sekiro was somehow super difficult
What the fuck? It's easy than any of the Souls games or Bloodborne.
Maybe Sekiro is harder if you're a faggot who grinds to beat bosses and summons when they're too hard for your bitch ass. There's not a single boss in Sekiro that took me as many attempts as Ornstein and Smough, or Orphan of Kos, or Flamelurker.
A few hard bosses maybe but the general game is really fucking easy. Stealth grants you OHKOs and you literally have infinite stamina. It gets boring quick.
It wasn't a boss. It was some sort of general guy just past the first ogre miniboss. I have this idea that you're not even supposed to fight him, he's not really aware of your presence and it seems like you could reasonably sneak past him and just keep going, and that he's there to teach you to do that. But I don't care, I can't disabuse myself of the need to kill every enemy I see.
Only annoying fight is isshin. Currently at ng+ and fuck this muh I can hit you while you hit me and you get half of your life chipped away. Same shit with demon of hatred
Sekiro gets better once you understand the combat.
Just keep progressing through the game, don't go to Hirata early
>finished Sekiro
>beat Ludwig and Orphan first try
>spent 2 hours on Rom
Imagine giving up on a literal tutorial boss holy shit.
No user he's not supposed to teach to ignore him (even though you can), he's supposed to teach you that you can use a stealth deathblow to remove on of his hp bars.
Like, he's literally the same general that you fight before the ogre, how the fuck does anyone get filtered on him???
I did Ashina Castle Gateway then Hirata. Just beat Butterflyba-chan and have head of the Senpou Temple. I think the combat is starting to click. The fat drunkard and his posse gave me a ton of trouble, but that's mainly because I'm impatient and still unlearning bad habits from Souls. When I finally beat Lady Butterfly I demolished her which was nice. Question about deflection. Does it pointing the control stick in a direction help at all, or am I just imaging shit?
are you perhaps this guy arch.b4k.co
every time i start the game my ps4 goes jet engine, what is this shit
Its the most fun soulslike game IMO but it isn't hard at all. Go play a competitive multiplayer game like csgo or league and try to get to the top 0.001% now thats hard.
not exactly the same because he actually uses thrusts and is surrounded by a billion grunts. the general at the top of the stairs in ashina castle is also different because he's the first to use sheathed stance attacks
Have you killed Genichiro?
I recommend killing him first before exploring any other area.
How far are you In Senpou temple?
For deflection, just press the block button at the right time.
You of course can't deflect an attack that comes from behind you.
and you can't spice it up with another weapon either.
The only thing that felt insurmountable about Sekiro was the camera. I almost got filtered at the one armed ninja in the well because the camera would get fucked if I was against the wall and I could not fucking see. The game is extremely fair and pretty forgiving in most parts, probably the easiest From
>Have you killed Genichiro?
Nope. I got to the Castle, then backtracked for exploration and discovered the bell that takes you to Hirata. After that I decided to explore the underground passage.
>For deflection, just press the block button at the right time.
Alright. I started pushing the stick in the direction of the incoming attack when I was fighting Lady Butterfly, and it was around that part that I got the rhythm of her attacks down. Must have been a coincidence
I really recommend you to kill Genichiro first, he's basically the end of the tutorial before the real game begings.
Going to any other areas will fuck you up since you're supposed to be doing them after you kill him.
Also for Butterfly, a much easier way to kill her is to step dodge her attack and then counter attack, do this properly and you will be able to stunlock her.
Using shurikens when she's in the air helps a lot (enemies takes extra dmg and fall to the ground when you hit them in the air with a shuriken) .
lmao
Alright, I'll go (attempt) to fuck up Genichiro then. Cheers for the advice
Rom is such a shitty fucking boss
>his favorite enemy isn't armored warrior
once you learn to parry, it isn't hard
Good luck, he's at the top of the castle.
There's an open window that leads inside the castle, lots of players seems to miss it
the seven spears dude? thats reasonable, he's considered the hardest miniboss in the game
even then, just mikiri counter bro
That's not corrupted monk
youtu.be
I like that you keep autistically posting that archive link in every Sekiro thread now so no one will forget that OP's shame.
Keep up the good work.
shit thread.
first fromsoft game you play is the hardest.
No he's talking about the general miniboss right after the ogre, not the seven spears ashina
It's probably the most difficult for shitters who play soulslikes despite being awful, since you can't just build whatever is OP in that game and instagib a boss
no summons is what killed shitters
Also, word of advice but you might want to get the firecrackers prosthetic, it will make your life so much easier
no the guy surrounded by gun dudes when you first get into the castle
oh
Isn't he the same as the guy before the snake?
nioh was harder than all these trash games
I mean it's a factor, but you could still clear DS1 with no effort using pyromancy etc
>stay close to enemies and literally just spam L1
I’m realizing people who complain about regenerating posture resorting to hit-run tactics are solely taking this to heart.
well mostly but he has some additional attacks
