Where is my DMC thread ?

I'm doing a lil' run on Heaven and hell just to chill out a bit. It's pretty fun

Nowhere. DMC Twitter is gearing up a small fan appreciation thing (they asked for hashtagged tweets to compile about players’ experience with the game and they’ve been spotlighting combo videos all week), they never suggested a major DLC announcement.

It’s just that it’s the anniversary so it’s a significant date and nobody wants to give up hope.

HoH is an interesting beast... I expected clearing it to be easy but S-ranking to be awful due to the oneshot mechanics, but the S requirements are super low. It’s a victory lap in every sense.

Yes indeed. I expect HAH to be the best way to play the game since ennemies have life of SoS mode. Sometimes DMD ennemies life is too big

It’s not. HAH isn’t fun because enemy attacks are balanced around damage and stagger, and DT is balanced around HP recovery; it’s an interesting challenge, but it’s ALWAYS going to be a certain degree of bullshit, and you’re going to wind up playing it super safe and not styling like you should.

Especially against bosses and super-armored enemies, you WILL play “hide in the corner, run back and forth, and blast it with your strongest projectile attacks”. I’m running up to SS in most fights with Nero because if you can keep enemies in stun, you can stay airborne and use endless juggles for safety, which is fun... but I fought the Qliphoth Roots boss at the back of the arena using DT Charge 3 shots and 5 minutes of jumping.

That’s ultimately what a lot of HAH is about.

SoS is the best “replay” difficulty; it’s the most balanced challenge with no bullshit number buffing. ideally you use the mod that turns all AI into DMD AI though

what did you think of DMD then ? It didn't felt that hard to me except certain missions that have a weird scoring like 10, 12 et 18. It's just a pain in the ass to play these ones.

Those missions are easier to S-rank on DMD than on lower difficulties because the enemy HP pools allow you to actually do significant damage after building to S+ rank without relying on taunt/RG/etc farming.

DMD is bullshit primarily because enemy DT granting super-armor breaks your juggles and that isn’t fun, and also because their output damage is buffed to bejesus and back.

I think my idea difficulty mode would be SoS, except with DMD enemy AI and DMD non-boss enemy HP pools

The thing that most upsets me about the inevitability of a “Special Edition” versus a plain ol’ DLC is the knowledge that I’m going to have to redo all my progress from scratch.

DMC5 has a lot more gameplay-altering shit hidden behind extreme challenges or grind than other titles; most of them it the big ask was “clear DMD again for the super costumes” but now we have all the special taunts that require millions and millions of orbs, Bloody Palace clears, etc.

Some of this shit I really don’t want to have to do all over again.

DMD is fine apart from dt Proto Angelo and Empusa Queen.

They just have weird enemy placing. Apart from Fury tanking your pts m10 and m12 are fine.
