Grinding isn't even the worst part of 2.
Dungeons are a fucking mess and the enemy balance is extremely piss poor.
Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to make draining moves percentage based. So enjoy taking a billion damage from Death Riders while they heal all the damage they took. This is also the reason why the blood sword is retarded broken on bosses.
Did I forget to mention how horrendous the encounter rate is too? Combine that with everything I mentioned above and you have yourself one of the worst RPG games ever.
You're better off skipping 2.

The Dawn of Sous versions of FFI and FFII have reduced difficulty compared to the originals. They're still good games but its probably not the way you should experience them The best versions are probably the PS1 remakes btw.
