I’ve already said, they changed the magic system which breaks the game and makes it too easy and got rid of the standard difficulty mode making only the easy mode from the PS1 version playable.
The magic system in FF works for that game, adding MP ruins it

They completely changed the combat system

I played the original. As far as I can tell the GBA version fixed a lot of bugs the original had, like some spells that did nothing when cast. It also fixed the bonuses on weapons that did extra damage vs. a certain monster type (although the bonus is disappointingly minimal). They've also changed the whole MP system so your casters have way more than ever before. The original was great, but it was the master of bugs. I will admit its easier, but the game play is more or less the same.

I found 2 just a bit too old fashioned for me. same with 1. 8 was just a bad game get over it lol

NGL, all final fantasy games are piss easy. The only good ones are Tactics, Tactics Advanced, VI IX and CC. I do enjoy them, despite their simplicity.

8 is fucking trash. disc 1 was cool and then the plot takes a complete nosedive, so together with the terrible progression systems you just have a bad game

Grinding isn't even the worst part of 2.
Dungeons are a fucking mess and the enemy balance is extremely piss poor.
Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to make draining moves percentage based. So enjoy taking a billion damage from Death Riders while they heal all the damage they took. This is also the reason why the blood sword is retarded broken on bosses.
Did I forget to mention how horrendous the encounter rate is too? Combine that with everything I mentioned above and you have yourself one of the worst RPG games ever.
You're better off skipping 2.

The Dawn of Sous versions of FFI and FFII have reduced difficulty compared to the originals. They're still good games but its probably not the way you should experience them The best versions are probably the PS1 remakes btw.
