China has been wanting to reform North Korea for a while now. Kim Jong Nam, Kim Jong Il's oldest son, was supposed to come to power when Il died and make market reforms like China under Jiang Zemin. China fears the collapse of North Korea, because that would mean US forces on their doorstep. It's possible that China will take advantage of Kim Jong Un's death and invade to turn NK into a SAR. However, Kim Yo Jong won't want to give up power to China so we could end up getting an all out war.
