Because it's fucking exhausting. Your entire life revolves around other people. You never get to experience peaceful solitude again. Women and children are needy and annoying and occasionally outright insufferable. Being at work becomes the best part of your day and vacations become a fucking chore that you're going through for the sake of someone else. Don't get me wrong, I do love my family and I won't abandon them, but if I could have my life over? No way I would do this shit again. I was so much happier as a bachelor.

It's so easy to think about all the heartwarming after school special moments having a family apparently comes bundled with when you have none of that responsibility yet. It never ends.
