/ATG/ - Anti-Tech General #4 - [Former /TKG/] - Freedom vs. Permissiveness Edition

Yeah, have actually been thinking of doing this for quite some time now, since way before these Generals....

Do you happen to know of an online version of 'The Technological Society' available anywhere...? That would help immensly. Have a hard-copy, with all the most crucial paragraphs already individualized; if an electronic copy, PDF or whatever were available, making an abridged version would really be just a matter of deleting and copy+pasting.

THIS.

No one likes being conned.

I think the issue is completely with the infamy of the author. The essay is already very short, which is an advantage. It's hard enough to get people to read a "book", so we should look into cutting out the fat wherever we can. However, we shouldn't dilute the message. We can start brainstorming to produce a list of parts in ISAIF that can justifiably be taken out or rewritten to be more succinct.

This indian has a technocratic mind: "muh base 10, muh base 10, muh base 10... muh convenience, muh convenience... fuck local number systems, fuck local number systems, fuck local number systems"

Fluoride state of mind.

see asshole, you got 10 fingers. and you count on them, it's that useful
you talk like your amputee kinds

Here's an online version

so what do? destroy technology and infrastructure, and sheeeit?

I understand the rational behind the base 10 system. But I am saying it does not matter to me. It is more important to me to preserve unique number systems rather than forcing everybody to move to a retarded standardized base 10 system. Lookup the Mayan numbers system - absolutely based

>It's useful
so are cars. I'm against them anyway.

i'll volunteer

>But ted said most user's are stupid.

Fuck Ted and his opinions, man. His core ideas are invaluable of course, 'pure gold' or whatever, but you can't let him rule your actions, either....

Tricking people into reading something will NOT be fruitful, most people who would take the time to read ISAIF will not appreciate getting conned. And if they are willing to actually read an essay instead of looking at flashy colors on a screen to begin with, chances are they are not all that stupid, either.

Don't leave just yet, mate.... thanks for the bump.

>forcing everybody to move to a retarded standardized base 10 system
you force things that are unpleasant
you adopt things that are pleasant
technology was forced, not adopted
