Gifted and Talented Education (better known as GATE, or TAG in some states) was and is a program in public schools to identify, separate, and test "gifted" children. Many children have similar characteristics:

How is this political? I was a gate kid in the late 80's early 90's in California. They put me there because I scored in the 98th percentile for the state administered science and math testing back in the fourth and fifth grades. They called it the 'CTBS test'. I never really thought anything of it, except that it was a place to go and actually learn where the stupid kids couldn't hold me back as much.
Outside of gate I spent the majority of class time drawing on the back of my worksheets or reading leisure books because class work took literally three minutes to complete.
Fwiw, I also drowned and remember the other side, also have prophetic dreams. the latest was about a big virus, and I had it around three years ago. I'm old enough to have stopped doubting the dreams and my family and just go with them. I was in gifted class, Brooklyn NY. A lot of good artists at early ages. I remember the hearing tests and being taken aside for some reason (do not recall if I hear better or worse than others). A little later I had an ear infection and had to go to hospital. I remember Dr.'s making me squeeze reel hard on what looked like the rubber from a crutch. There were like 3 or 4 Dr.'s, all in masks, in what looked like a dark and unused surgery room (just a bed or chair in the middle). They gave me a vary painful needle on the base of my fist and afterwards I felt OK. It seemed like an unused area of hospital and my dad was just hanging around in the hallway. It was a strange experience that I always remembered.
I remember the doctors telling my some weird shit like it was going to be very painful... And it was. But I later I felt very good when it was over (like the end result of hypnosis and feeling great upon awakening). I did not have any surgery performed... Just taken into a room unexpectedly, injected and given back to my dad who was standing in the hallway.

Which is to say that the government is definitely aware that this thing exists. But there was no weird facilities or anything like you would see on TV made just for ESP training. I was in gate, was tested in 2nd grade. Only test I remember is matching patterns they gave with large 'dice' that had red and white geometric shapes.
I dont really remember anything we did. I remember it was usually in some extra trailer/extra room from the school, and I remember them making it dark sometimes.

I was in GATE from 1st to 2nd grade and I remember the bulky headphones and weird tones played through them. The only activity I remember is sitting in the small dimly lit room watching some video of people working on a farm. The video (and the assignment with it) were asking these strange logistics problems concerning farm management.

I remember those user. My mother was a gifted teacher. I was told my forehead scar was from falling into the fireplace. Thing is I have the finger scar as well. All these apply to me, and while I cannot remember how I got either of those scars, I remember things that occurred when I was 2. My mother had a lot of other weird stuff.
