These two mostly. I was raised in a lower middle class household and learned the value of luxuries like brand named foods and eating out. Going into my 30s and have solid savings for a down payment on a house despite working a relatively low wage job (I'm a construction company's driver /random shit guy). I'm eyeing the low market now, hoping to nab something at a rock bottom intetest rate and lock that shit in.
Most millennials don't even know how to cook, let alone how to cook cheaply. I've seen some friend's "budgets" and 70% or more is going to eating out or delivery. And it's so easy to ignore that shit, "it's only $20" but that's every day, when you could be spending $5 or less per meal is atrocious.

That being said, it's hard to establish blame. Cities are overcrowded. Is it their fault? They should probs head to smaller cities where life is affordable.

From my memory 1996-2010 (born in 1993) as a young millennial I recall literally every good in the economy doubling in price. I don't remember gas prices before 9/11, but post I recall $1.31 and it was $3.50ish all through high school. My whole family of four used to eat out on $20. In high school a single dish was $12-15. I can only imagine what happened with rent. This is from a flyover state, btw. The 2008 crash and billionaire bailouts absolutely fucked my generation.
