Absolutely guaranteed China has been using the confusion and panic as cover to purge a lot of undesirables. You can count them as disease deaths (or just don't report them in the death counts at all) and dispose of their bodies with the rest of the dead people and no one will be the wiser, dead men tell no tales and chinksects know better than to speak up.
