As the pandemic worsens:
Gathering sizes will continue to shrink, people will be further shamed for gathering in any number.
People who put others at risk of infection either by lining up too closely in lines at the grocery store or by taking an elevator too closely together or sharing a vehicle or heaven forbid, touching each other, will be further shamed and accused of putting the lives of health workers, who will have to tend to them once infected, at risk.
Dependant on government subsidies and afraid for their lives, citizens will increasingly report one another to the authorities for disobedience.
As the pandemic worsens, "essential" workers will become ill leading to more social services becoming unavailable including emergency services.
Old people will increasingly die alone, their families forbidden to visit them on their death beds, and nihilism will explode in such populations as people consider life to be increasingly meaningless.
Further vilified for non-compliance with social distancing, homeless and poor people will die off, quietly.
Landlords will lock out their past-due tenants with impunity.
Those too poor to benefit from this Orwellian nightmare will attempt to resist or even rebel and riots will break out leading to further explosions of infection.
There will be a new genre of "terrorist" act borne out of this situation, as mass shootings and the like are no longer a feasible means of airing one's anti-social grievances.
War will break out between many countries, possibly the US and China after having accused one another of having started the virus.
And, believe it or not, in the midst of all of this, a fake alien invasion will take place.

Reminder: a natural peak is not possible in Italy due to the lockdown. If people left their home it would be astronomical. These numbers are only relatively steady because of the lockdown. Italians would need to stay home for months.
