It's hard not to laugh at how universally fascists and communists both agree that art must be stale, emotionless, impersonal and uninspiring, lest it become "evil" or "subversive". Personally I think Hitler's technique was pretty sound, but you can see his egotism showing in thinking that his work needs to be treated as actual art. The pieces are completely devoid of anything personal or emotional, they're very objective and don't express anything. I think Hitler really could have done well in life had he chose to applies his skills to practical illustrations, like models, blueprints, diagrams. The kind of objective style he has is extremely good for these kind of applications.
The main problem just boils down to the fact that commies and fascists probably don't actually believe art is actually real at all. I would guess deep down they mostly believe art is just stuff you put up everywhere to remind people what to think and believe.
