No one in Miami will die. Hialeah is putting off POWERFUL and UNSTOPPABLE SanterĂa juju that WILL stop the virus in it's tracks. For every chicken sacrificed over 1,000 people will be saved. For every goat 10,000. Do not fuck with the magics.

The economy is already going to tank here. Don't expect the theme parks/ major resorts to reopen until at least May at the earliest. And that will be a staggered/phased opening more than likely. The damage is already done, the major construction projects happening around Disney/Universal will be severely curtailed as all the construction happening there has entirely stopped as of earlier this week.

It's fucked, the financial loss will be enormous because it's not just tourists we get in these locations, but large scale profession conventions/events as well that have all cancelled for the foreseeable future because despite anything positive being said they view the risk as too high at the moment. I expect it will be worse than it was attendance wise for the theme parks ten years ago for a few years while we see where the economy lands.

>New York and New Jersey
these people should be hunted down, and forcefully ejected from florida. fucking hate them

let me guess, the swamp guy is the norf/panhandle, and the space program guy is the middle/tampa bay

Oh, yeah, no, I'm well aware that the economy is going to be fucked no matter what happens because global tourism is going to take a very long time to recover no matter what Florida does.

Like most terrible mistakes Repubs make this is about not seeing beyond short-term self-interest. If 20% of the state croaks DeSantis is fucking done for politically, but that's way too far in the future for him to understand. The choice directly in front of his nose is whether he should be the one to publicly take the blame for the economic results of a full shutdown. He'd much rather do nothing and let the counties take the blame for shutdowns (though they're not shutting down because they see his inaction as a lack of urgency).

have a feeling herd immunity has been achieved... sars-cov-2 has been present in florida for at least 3-4 months.

Community spread began two weeks ago you fucking idiot

Ah, no. No they are not. It's nearly impossible to get tested at those drive through locations in SFL

they have one in PBC, one in PSL, one in MC?

Makes me wonder how we would have done if niggermethhead got elected, at least shit might be a bit more exciting. DeSantis is like a boring version of Jeb! if such a thing is possible. Maybe he'll do something in the next couple days but it's too late one way or another. Economy is fucked even if it turns out to be a nothing burger and I'm entirely sure FL is not equipped to handle even a 10% unemployment rate.
