A fucking train of cars from New York and New Jersey were seen on i-95 going into (((Broward))) county.....I think we might be fucked if they brought a different mutation.

We can only hope so. Its the boomers that forced the lockdown on everyone else. They should pay for what they've done.

Because physical inactivity makes you weak and less likely to survive

where do you get zero from?
there have been deaths..
what retard mental gymnastics logic is this chart/graph using?

look at the county results memeflaggot

ok i see, Dade county.. they just had a press conference down there declaring they needed hotels for all the space from people being sick and needing hotel space for doctors and nurses.

>600 cases in 48 hours
>90% of businesses classified as essential
>governor trapped inside Trump's gaping asshole so he won't do jack shit to lock us down
>incubation period ending
>hospitals already out of masks
Ventilators will be at capacity on Friday. Mass deaths will follow. A complete lack of testing and reclassification of deaths will temporarily hide the toll.

The main vector of infection for the elderly and immunocompromised will be dispensaries like Trulieve. The host for the Deerfield location (handles everyone's IDs) has it and was likely spreading it for weeks

It's getting more insane by the day in soflo. Hordes of northeastern boomers strolling about, lines at the post office out the door.

its meme. there are 31 hospitalizations

>Its gonna happen BRO I swear.

Weak shill effort. You should be docked.

Almost forgot
>mayors and county leaders can't do shit because every business is considered essential, including dog grooming and landscaping

In Tampa yesterday, our hysterical feminist mayor tried to order a lockdown and based Republicans stopped it.

Nigga there were 600 cases in the last two days despite needing to be on your fuckin' deathbed to get tested.

The spike is happening now. We had two weeks to flatten it out. Instead we did nothing.

news-journalonline.com/news/20200322/coronavirus-now-infects-830-in-florida-1-more-dead-as-state-to-put-field-hospitals-in-south-florida

i read it elsewhere not sure what source this is.

>needing to be on your fuckin' deathbed

typical smooth brain response. likely hispanic

florida is now encouraging the asymptomatic to test to find additional cases

I don't want to go back to work at the hotel

it is just a flu bro

floridahealthcovid19.gov/

hi rad lol

>I'm an idiot
There are two mobile testing stations that you still need a referral to test at. All other tests are for those with extreme symptoms or known exposure.

They're testing fewer than 1500 people a day you absolute tool

Nursing homes statewide are confirmed to be infected. Get comfy lads, Day of the Pillow is here.

I already had the flu this year and to go to the hospital

wrong again. the test center in The Villages is completely free and open to anyone per Desantis yesterday

So let me just drive a few hours to the villages and possible infect every old person their.
What a great idea

Attached: 1583101405296.gif (500x700, 1.99M)

You didn't listen very well. You need a referral to test at the Villages. You cannot just drive up asympromatic and get tested.

The mobile centers in the Villages and Miami can only test about 500 people a day.

>1 in 10 out of every memelord who thinks they have it actually do

OH NO NO NO

>Dade and Broward county are completely pozzed
kek

>anyone who thinks they have it can get tested
Oops, you're retarded.

I'll say it again: positive cases doubled in the last 48 hours even with the absolute joke that is florida's testing

Fuck Ron DeSantis

facebook com/wftv/videos/1326974774167064/

At -11:33 (~21:24) in today's update below he fields a question about the calls for a shelter-at-home order. As he starts rambling about all the fucking nothing measures he's taking you can see the military leader behind him turn away so that his reaction to this stream of horseshit won't be caught on camera.

He says South Florida is down to "essential operations."
Here's what is considered "essential operations"
-Car dealerships
-Marinas and Recreational Docks
-Private construction and contracting
-That orange stand staffed by two mexicans on the side of the road
-Landscaping/Gardening services
-Weed stores
-Mover's
-Dog groomers
-Pool cleaning
-Divorce law
-Office supply stores

The governor basically said on live television that he's not taking real measures because:
-the seniors will isolate voluntarily and no one else will follow an order anyway
-he doesn't want people to "flee the state" like they did in NY
-he doesn't want Florida to suffer financial hardship because of a shutdown

There are about 500 new cases in the last 2 days even with the still-stringent testing - you can't get tested without serious symptoms or direct exposure outside of now two very limited testing sites. DeSantis pretends only tested positives are real cases.

The symptomatic cases are skyrocketing which means we've lost the initial fight to flatten the curve in florida. The virus has already had mass spread over the last two weeks of asymptomatic/incubatory carriers who are now showing symptoms. Lockdown needs to happen fucking yesterday or Florida's medical system is going to reach capacity very suddenly.

>Still zero deaths
Why do idiots keep saying this every time a new plume of cases sprout up?
It takes a week or two for the symptoms to tank those that are susceptible.
Just like Italy all the places with tons of cases are going to start a sudden rising death rate.
It doesn't happen immediately when they're symptomatic.

Can confirm. Had severe breathing issues and very possible COVID infection for the last 2 weeks, mid 20's.. and no where to get tested. Testing site here in PB county got shut down like a day after opening.

can you describe your symptoms more?
any blood in mucus coughed out?
what about fever?

yeah it was seniors only, they had 6k calls the first day? some large number

Alachua County FL here. Complete nothingburger

A large collection of ER doctors and nurses in South Florida released an open letter this morning:

Hello, people of Miami. We are your emergency room doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Most of you have met us, one way or another. We might have cared for you, your child, your parent, or someone else you love. We are of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, and political persuasions. Some of us were born here and others have adopted Miami as our home, but we are all united in our love for this unique and beautiful city and its diverse population. We've never written a letter to you before, but we've never experienced a crisis like the one we are currently facing. We are the people who are witnessing first-hand the impact that COVID-19 is having on people in our community, and we have seen a frighteningly rapid increase in the number of people with severe and life-threatening respiratory illnesses coming into our emergency rooms. The low number of confirmed cases in published reports does not show the true number of people who have been infected by the virus in Miami, or anywhere else in the USA for that matter. It only reflects that we are far behind where we should be in testing. All of us expect that if and when COVID-19 testing reaches the appropriate levels, the number of confirmed cases will explode.

What we have seen in the emergency rooms in Miami confirms what is being reported from other American cities: young and otherwise healthy people are also becoming severely ill from COVID-19. This is not just a problem for the elderly and chronically-ill. It is a dangerous threat to all of us.One of the most insidious aspects of this epidemic is that it draws strength from people's skepticism and feelings of invulnerability. If people need to personally experience COVID-19 by having a loved one or close friend infected in order to take this crisis seriously, then it will be too late and we will suffer the full brunt of this epidemic. The worst-case scenarios indicate that over a million Americans may eventually die of COVID-19 if we are unable to control its spread. We have had good fortune not to be the first country to be affected, and we have seen the devastation the virus can cause in countries where it spirals out of control. We have also seen that social distancing has been very successful in reducing the spread of the virus and the death rate in many Asian countries.

Every close interaction between people creates a risk of virus transmission by microscopic droplets that can travel up to six feet from a carrier's nose and mouth. The virus remains alive on surfaces for up to three days. It is virtually impossible to avoid being exposed to the virus if one comes in contact with a carrier. Since many carriers have no symptoms at all, we must avoid all unnecessary contact with EVERYONE that we are not currently living with. As difficult as it is,we must learn to live with a minimum of in-person social interactions until the epidemic is under control. We are all going to have to sacrifice a great deal temporarily for a better future for ourselves and the most vulnerable among us. The more determinedly we practice social distancing now, the sooner we can end this epidemic and get back to our normal lives. If we choose to ignore the danger and try to live the same way as always we risk allowing this epidemic to overwhelm our health care system the way it has in northern Italy, with thousands of people dying in hospital hallways without even the comfort of having their families nearby.

We are a large and diverse group of medical professionals. Pretty much the only thing we all see eye to eye on is that we want our community to stay as healthy as possible, and we want to see as few people as possible needing our services. We have no other agenda, and absolutely no reason to mislead you. Please understand and believe that this is the worst health crisis that we who are currently living have ever faced. We need every last one of you to do his or her part to help us kick this virus out of Miami, out of America, and off our planet forever. Thank you and please stay safe and healthy

tl;dr Cases are way higher than testing/media indicates, it's VITUALLY IMPOSSIBLE to not get infected if you have direct contact with a carrier, it's dangerous for everyone not just the elderly and immunocompromised

Hispanic genes for the win

Why hasn't he shut us down yet?

And even with this open letter and open call for help DeSantis categorically refuses to do anything.

For fuck's sake he signed an executive order to force anyone flying in from NY to quarantine but OOPS FORGOT ABOUT THEM CARS LOL

>Why hasn't a Republican governor up Trump's ass shut us down yet
It wouldn't be good for the economy, user. Can't let the cure be worse than the problem.

your pic doesn't specify which one is from which part of florida , except the south florida guy

it's obvious to anyone who is from florida

No one in Miami will die. Hialeah is putting off POWERFUL and UNSTOPPABLE SanterĂa juju that WILL stop the virus in it's tracks. For every chicken sacrificed over 1,000 people will be saved. For every goat 10,000. Do not fuck with the magics.

The economy is already going to tank here. Don't expect the theme parks/ major resorts to reopen until at least May at the earliest. And that will be a staggered/phased opening more than likely. The damage is already done, the major construction projects happening around Disney/Universal will be severely curtailed as all the construction happening there has entirely stopped as of earlier this week.

It's fucked, the financial loss will be enormous because it's not just tourists we get in these locations, but large scale profession conventions/events as well that have all cancelled for the foreseeable future because despite anything positive being said they view the risk as too high at the moment. I expect it will be worse than it was attendance wise for the theme parks ten years ago for a few years while we see where the economy lands.

>New York and New Jersey
these people should be hunted down, and forcefully ejected from florida. fucking hate them

let me guess, the swamp guy is the norf/panhandle, and the space program guy is the middle/tampa bay

Oh, yeah, no, I'm well aware that the economy is going to be fucked no matter what happens because global tourism is going to take a very long time to recover no matter what Florida does.

Like most terrible mistakes Repubs make this is about not seeing beyond short-term self-interest. If 20% of the state croaks DeSantis is fucking done for politically, but that's way too far in the future for him to understand. The choice directly in front of his nose is whether he should be the one to publicly take the blame for the economic results of a full shutdown. He'd much rather do nothing and let the counties take the blame for shutdowns (though they're not shutting down because they see his inaction as a lack of urgency).

have a feeling herd immunity has been achieved... sars-cov-2 has been present in florida for at least 3-4 months.

Community spread began two weeks ago you fucking idiot

Ah, no. No they are not. It's nearly impossible to get tested at those drive through locations in SFL

they have one in PBC, one in PSL, one in MC?

Makes me wonder how we would have done if niggermethhead got elected, at least shit might be a bit more exciting. DeSantis is like a boring version of Jeb! if such a thing is possible. Maybe he'll do something in the next couple days but it's too late one way or another. Economy is fucked even if it turns out to be a nothing burger and I'm entirely sure FL is not equipped to handle even a 10% unemployment rate.

hopefully the die during their fairly long drive to florida.

have a feeling people have been getting sick for a while. they just thought is was the flu because covid is a huge nothing burger that hardly kills anybody.

>FL unemployment
My software job got outsourced a couple years back and I looked at unemployment for after my severance ran out in case I couldn't find something.

Unemployment in FL is a fucking joke, max 275 a week regardless of prior income. We're gonna have good old-fashioned 1920's bread lines.

Holy fuck guys just do the lockdown for fucks sake you'll have a bazillion cases in a month.

All indications point to covid19's community spread in Florida beginning with the Port Everglades worker two weeks ago
