Mobile plans don't cancel automatically due to non-payment, they just incur debt for the duration of the contract then don't renew it and send the account to collections. This is common sense. I don't know what kind of retard would come up with the idea that your mobile provider cuts you off the network the moment you die.
A sudden drop is a sign of manual cancellations. It's the same reason why a lot of people here stopped paying rent: they don't know how long this will last so they will spend as little money as they can. China is a much poorer country so one of the first thing their consumers will cut off is mobile phones if they have wifi at home.
