See The soul hypothesis needs to explain how memories can be damaged if the brain is damaged, chemical manipulations of the brain change personality behavior (getting drunk, hallucinatory drugs).

No you are a soul. You can leave the body and view it outside of your body through the soul's senses.
No one claims that memories are stored in the soul. The soul is said the part of you that is eternal, the 'you', while memories primarily belong to the ego.
The mind also functions like a conduit for the soul, according to most traditions, a little bit like a radio, and if the conduit is damaged, the transmission quality also suffers.
Read Jung and some other of the highly intellectually capable Hermeticists....
