Swiss govt is probably going to lock down everyone in the next two days.
What's the best MRE to buy in bulk?
BASED
I love you
Uh oh
post it here you fucking thread splitter
Lmao this church in NC posted to come to service if you’re sick.
Okay, seeing as many anons don't really know how testing works I'll explain
>How do we test for coronavirus?
Real-time quantitative Polymerase chain reaction (rt-qpcr) is used to basically take a sample from the person an make lots of copies of the viral RNA in it so that we can detect it and measure the amount (viral load). Animation of the process here
youtu.be
>What is needed for testing?
Materials to purify RNA, reverse transcriptase proteins, basic materials for DNA synthesis (nucleotides and stuff), a fluorescent probe, a thermocycler with fluorescence measuring equipment and the genetic sequence of the target virus.
>How much does it cost?
A thermocycler goes for 10k+ ameridollars in freedomland, the rest of the stuff is not very expensive, process can be mostly automated.
>If so what is a test kit and why are there limitations to testing capacity?
Tests kits are specialized equipment for one particular pathogen and so are quicker/easier to use for nurse lab monkeys and serve to avoid contamination. Speed of testing is dictated by A. Available testing facilities and thermocyclers (one rt-qpcr assay itself takes an hour + sample handling and preparation, can't really find info on how many people you can test per machine per run) B. Lack of reagents (particularly for RNA purification, seems like they are made in chinkland)
>What's with the false negatives?
Rt-qpcr tests are known to be prone to errors with emerging/rapidly mutating pathogens because of non-specific amplification, primer mismatch and other technical issues
>Why is the US getting JUST'D in tests per capita when compared to countries like South Korea?
Basically lack of organization and coordinated work between private and public labs (where privates have the most testing capacity and thus can jew you out of thousands of bucks for a test). Lack of centralized information sharing system. Lack of preparation for huge increase in demand for testing reagents.
ahhh not this shit again im finna coom
