12,000 people in the US died from swine flu in 2009-2010. On average 70k people die each year from the common H1N1/H1N2 seasonal flu.
The good news is that corona isn’t that deadly in its current state. The bad news is that it is most certainly a biological weapon that is incredibly transmissible.
Ask yourself why else would world governments be going absolute apeshit about containing people when it isn’t very deadly? To reduce its chances of mutating into something worse.
My guess is that it was developed in the west to be used in a total-war scenario against the Chinese military, but it was smuggled out of a Canadian bio lab by double agent(s). The chinks aren’t dumb by any means but obviously they are a developing nation and don’t have the same biological containment protocols that are common in the west.
Some lazy procedures helped the virus escape the lab in Wuhan, and since the virus was designed to target Chinese people, they have suffered the most deaths since its release. Everyone else (excluding the elderly and those with lung problems) gets over the virus in the same amount of time as a cold.
