So, like, I’m about as far left as they come, but I think people like this are confusing Capitalism with just the default state of human existence. If you want to make a case against Capitalism it’s much better to frame the down sides as its failures rather than as its success. No one who likes Capitalism wants kids to starve, they just disagree with us about how to go about preventing it. This is the single most frustrating part about being on the left; I’m a classic mistake theorist surrounded by a bunch of childish conflict theorists.
