Common core thread

Both methods are valid but the common core is convoluted as fuck. A simple subtraction should not require that many steps & using addition as well.
Show me a kid who naturally thinks like that.
Even autist weird-wired screwballs don't NATURALLY think like that.

26 + 17 = (20 + 6) + (10 + 7) = (20 + 10) + (6 + 7) = 30 + 13 = 43
