I'm a native Austinite who grew up in the music scene. Nashville and LA is where musicians go to get famous, Austin is where musicians come to get by. Yeah, there's some guy with a guitar in every bar/restaurant in Austin. So fucking what? SRV's been dead longer than I've been alive and not one important act has come out of Austin since.
I for one couldn't be happier with SX getting cancelled. That shit went from a music festival to an overcrowded tech expo and knock-off Marti Gras. It's been extremely ghetto the last few years as every nigger from Houston drives over and shits up the place with their loud-ass speakers in their cars. The whole thing's a complete shitshow and makes navigating Austin (which already has horrible traffic) borderline impossible. Fucking tourists can stay the fuck home, boo fucking hoo.
