You don't know what you don't know, though. Beginners tend to jump to a lot of conclusions because they can't find a specific example to draw from. Either they can't read the explanation of a phrase, don't realise it is a phrase in the first place, or they get sick of looking up every other word and just start making shit up.
You can't put out a decent translation by acting like a chinese fucking room.
translate some shitty isekai. If you actually know japanese your TL will be better than 90% of the current scanlations.
