No. It's monsters respawn. The rate at which they respawn is just slower than how fast they can be killed when you have hundreds or thousands of players farming the same starter areas. Making them a somewhat limited resource that people would have to compete for. Retards watching the series interpreted the remarks about that as "monsters don't respawn".

That's why they call Sugou torturing Asuna and stating is intent to rape her is a rape scene, despite him not getting further than ripping Asuna's top off (which the anime made a point to NOT show her breasts after that), much less him getting as far as getting his dick out and sticking it in Asuna. That's why they call Shinkawa attacking Sinon a rape scene, despite his intention being murder/suicide because he was insane, and despite all he did was lift up her shirt slightly(likely about getting clear access to inject her close to her heart). That's why they call the two kouhai being attacked a rape scene, despite it being a failed rape attempt that didn't even get the girl's clothes off.
