That's exactly how world building should be done. It would be completely unnatural if the characters reacted with shock at something that's common knowledge, or explained it to someone like it was a big reveal that the sun would rise tomorrow.

I have no idea of the actual quality of the source material, but I do know that David Productions's adaptation was one of the worst anime I've ever seen. That probably helps keep the normalfags away.

I like the worlds Okubo created here and in Soul Eater. Same for the fractions/organizations that have so many completely different people in its ranks. The issue is that he uses it to introduce a shitton of characters who later barely get any attention but that's bound to happen.

Black clover at least has some settings and enough comedic value to keep some form of interest. Sure it's normie pleb shit, but it at least varies itself out and tries a few things rather than being a one trick pony.

The only difference is that BC has something called TONE, which helps the series not feel so jarring when shit comes up once and never again. You expect it, there is enough setting for you not to think too much about it because it's written in a way that everyone is aware what is going on.

FF goes to 2 ends of the spectrum back and forth almost instantly while putting emphasis on specific characters and their traits being vital to the team. However, it constantly throws all that down the toilet for a quick joke or some other useless shit that we need to see that makes no sense in the universe we are to buy into.

One big problem of fire force is that it’s so generic. The brother troupe has been done to death. The super old man training montage is basically all naruto and one piece. The terrorist organization is the akatsuki, dude has an “evil” power he uses for good...it suffers from awful troupes. Now what would have been interesting is if they used real like firefighter tactics to fight the fire enemies instead of shonenshit battles. That would’ve been cool.

So is Fire Force like Fairy Tail where it's only good for the girls? Literally the only time I see it being positives talked about is when it's talking about the girls

animation and sound design are pretty great but fire force seems like a manga where world building is the most important. I read to about vol5 last year then i dropped it but i do plan on reading it again soon I thought it was pretty good.
