Mugen no Juunin finale

So why didn't Manji pick his own arm again afterwards?

This episode was such a fucking fever dream. Perfect for the finale i suppose. The ending is so appropriately melancholic too. 100 years later everyone whose story even mattered is dead, forgotten by the times. Though it's of some comfort that Rin's descendants exist and not Anotsu's or Kagimura's. Now i guess i'll read the manga since everyone insists it's so much better.

why did rin break down crying near the end
i'm so fucking lost i have no idea what happened

Let me get this straight.
It ends with the Itto-ryu being wiped out, then we get a timeskip 80 years down the line and no one remembers them. Manji is naturally still around due to being immortal and is tasked with looking after Fuyu, who I presume is Rin's descendant. And then the anime ends, with the two of them riding off into the sunset.

She was pretending to be all mature and strong but deep down she just wanted to be with Manji

Farewell best girl.

well that flew over my head, thanks

also she was still sad because her parents are dead

I never really got to read the manga. Just the 1st series 12 years ago.
The 2nd part especially of this adaptation felt really rushed. They tried to adapt the whole manga? The OST was more memorable in the 1st anime.
It's probably still the best idea to read the manga someday.

Last episode already? And here I thought I would get to post in these threads a bit more. Seems like I never made it in time aside from when ep1 and 2 were released.
Thoroughly loved it even though it did feel like it was paced at the speed of light sometimes. But I guess that's what happens when you're told to adapt the whole thing in one go.
I also really like how they handled the budged. Never felt cheap in any way even though it wasn't the biggest production.
Godspeed Hamasaki.

As a reminder of the Ittou Ryu and his promise to Anotsu. Considering he barely remember the Ittou Ryu and he even forgot Anotsu's name until the loli pointed out about his missing pinky, it seems it was a good idea

Reminder that Anotsu won at the end. His real goal wasn't to earn a government position or similar shit but to destroy the sectarism of the martial art styles for a more pragmatic approach. Anotsu wanted Manji to see if his ideology was going to win at the end and MMA have exposed traditional martial arts.

rest in peace
yeah i think they handled it well. not sure if they'll be another season but i like how they showed how time moved on, and he is in a new era now taking care of the girl

Crossover with Rurouni Kenshin when?

Despite the rushed adaption and low budget I really enjoyed this, I hope Hamasaki's next project gets the time and money he deserves because he's fantastic.

I love how quick and brutal that scene was. Sword fights are supposed to be real quick because the target is the enemy's body and in a real war, foot soldiers often die without even realizing it

The protector of imoutos will be released from his violently immortal wanderings only by protecting 100 loli smiles.
Ultimately pragmatic thinkers won the ideological war even though Anotsu died. The firearm supplanted the blade as the soldier's weapon. Schools of swordsmanship? The blades became bamboo and it's just recreational sport now. the sword got buried under superior killing power of the raifu.

Don't forget that even after martial arts became a recreational sport, their practical use was questioned through the 20th century, most famously by Bruce Lee (he and Anotsu could be bros) and now China has to ban MMA because the CCP relate kung fu and tai chi with nationalism. Nevertheless...

despite all it's other flaws, the fight scenes were utter carnage at times
they were truly brutal and that was fun to see

It peaked with episode 20.

the martial arts guy is a fatty, of course he would get rekt.

It plateaued at episode 1.

Maybe you need a little context

>Manji burying his swords

it doesn't matter he is a kung fu master, he is a fatty, so he is easy to beat

If anything this has made me check out Shigurui, also directed by Hamasaki.

>manji watching everyone he used to know and care about die then forgetting them
>for eternity

the journey was sad and brutal
a bittersweet final was about right

Why didn't the loser samurai commit seppuku after all? How did the old itto ryuu guy survive a stab to the chest?

Fuck I wanted Manji and Rin living together ending. Not necessarily as lovers but, just together. Even more frustrating they had the chance but went "meh" at the end.

don't worry, he'll buy a gun

Wow, spoilers much

>On a mission to (Determined result)

well no bias there.

>coming into a final episode thread without having watched the episode
>complains about spoilers
that's on you bud, if you want nice spoiler free discussion you can go to reddit

Not him, but the spoilers seemed to be about the manga, since they were in a reply to a manga post.

>post stars with "this episode
>thinks it's a manga post
bruh

That was a good anime /10

and it ends saying user was going to read the manga, then another user replies spoiling something

This adaptation is so cheap that they couldn't even animate Manji going away while Rin and Hyakurin talked?

Attached: 2020-03-25 17.17.31 mangadex.org b4820dbbb9b9.jpg (941x636, 192.71K)

it sure would have made a lot more sense if i could have seen manji walking off

Who was the old dude that baldy met on the brigde with the granddaughter?

Now time for Hamasaki to direct Despera

Yeah, read it, it's worth.
There's so many little details left out, every character story and arc suffered a lot.

Hyakurin even says that she went there for the "send off".
I assumed that she wasn't talking just about Rin.

It's already happening.
There's a spin-off right now that happens during the Bakumatsu.

>Rin's own family only lasted a couple of generations before an internal squabble over the dojo
Poetic

Rin called out Manji's name multiple times when having sex with the father of her childern.

Mugen no Juunin mean The Inhabitant of Infinite.

The guy the other guy stabbed.

This had the same director? I guess I could have noticed that, but I hated Shigurui and loved this. Maybe it was as if Shigurui was like the worst episodes of Mugen no Juunin, except for the whole duration of the show and barely anything to redeem them other than the art.

naruhodo

This one.

Currently catching up to the end but my god this is one of the coolest deaths ever.

he looked fucking ancient there, how did he live for another 80 goddamn years

Sosuke Abayama

This scene happens after 3 month after final battle

god the ending was so confusing the way they chopped it up and arranged it

Yeah, that was fucking hardcore.

Yep, they chopped to much from original, like scene where Manji leaving Rin (some user mentioned before), or scene where sailos says Manji that Anotsu is alive.

Can you blame her? Manji is fucking hot and his voice is pure sex.

shows like this which are so close to being great are much more frustrating to review than a show that is simply bad. in my head i can remember so many scenes that were absolutely fantastic but altogether the show feels somewhat like a scrapbook of plot points cut out from the manga. this show wouldnt be what it is without hamasaki so respect to him and the staff. left wanting more, i could read the manga but i want more of this anime.

Can't believe I sat through 24 episodes of this absolute garbage. I was laughing at everything that happened in the past 2-3 episodes. The ending put me in to a fit of laughter. What a god damn comedy.
