Would killing Kiki even solve anything? What about the comatose people? They're linked to her in some fashion, considering she put them in that state. Also, who's to say her power's unique to just herself? If you can figure out a solution to her problem, you can prevent it from spreading or build a framework for how to deal with it in the future if someone else pops up with similar gifts. What if her powers got amplified during the moment of her death? It could've led to many people getting hurt or comatose considering she was in the middle of a city. The best course of action was to put her back into deep sleep for the time being.

Say to her "Cool, free gun." Take it then walk away. On a side note the animators did a nice job on the pistol. I really like the detailed rifling in the barrel. It looks like a S&W 6900 series to me, see pic related. I own a similar S&W 5906, sweet shooter.
