Would killing Kiki even solve anything? What about the comatose people? They're linked to her in some fashion, considering she put them in that state. Also, who's to say her power's unique to just herself? If you can figure out a solution to her problem, you can prevent it from spreading or build a framework for how to deal with it in the future if someone else pops up with similar gifts. What if her powers got amplified during the moment of her death? It could've led to many people getting hurt or comatose considering she was in the middle of a city. The best course of action was to put her back into deep sleep for the time being.

Not sure if you're being a snarky asshole or not. But I'll bite. Early S&W 5900/6900 series pistols had rounded trigger guards like many other semi-autos. Around 1990, they started making them with the square guards to allow operators to operate more operationally. This thread is now owned by /k/.

It's a /k/ thing. An operator is just someone who carries a gun for a living. Think cop or military. Some people liked to hold their non trigger squeezing index finger alongside the trigger guard. With a round guard, the finger can easily slip off. That's why the guard in the pic is square and has serrations on the front for a better grip. It was popular in the 90's, but has fallen out of favor lately. Thumbs forward is the new hotness. See pic related.

Technology clearly is the solution. The building can contain her powers within it and the pool controls it very accurately.

Presumably they just need to make a better helmet, and miniturize the function of the system so she can just walk around the building at least without having to be in the tank constantly just to stop people from going into dream land.

I think the ending is pretty hopeful for the future. I really don't like the lets go back to the status quo of normal reality where the magic powers going away by killing the person or somehow removing the powers is a bad answer in my opinion.

Right now it isn't ideal as she has to be in the tank all the time to control her powers but if they improve things she can greatly improve her quality of life. They just need a better helmet that goes on her instead and temporarily suppresses her powers so she can at least walk around the building eat regular meals, sleep without a dream mind meld. Eventually they could make the shielding system portable or city wide and she could go about without anyone being the wiser. She'd always need very careful protection as governments and evil people would definitely want to abuse or kill her.
