Oden's wife, as that is what she is really so I'll address her as such, is totally barren of any kind of characterization and is just a baby factory and lazy deus ex machina. Her connection to the void century purely incidental and was just slap together to justify a reason for her being a time traveler.
Bland Whore, as that is what she is at the end of it all, is just as bland as Oden's wife. Her gig as a prostitute feels slapped together because again, Oda just wants to make pointless japanese references. You could've just introduced her as seen in the Kamazo shit and nothing would change. Making us wonder what the point was earlier. Her character doesn't improve, however, because after we're formally introduced to her, we get a shit princess character who's just a clone of her mother, Oden's wife. Yapping and delivering pointless exposition and offering nothing to the overall plot besides being another bland pretty face. Momonosuke to my shock is probably the most interesting of this whole shitty family as he experiences real growth and true pathos that carries him later in the story. He's still not good as he has failed to deliver any real agency and is just a princess character in shota form.
Back to the Beast Pirates, their threat level was compromised so Oda can sell us on shitty nippon stronk meme. Yet these samurai are whom we are fighting on behalf of.
I have no faith in the rest of the arc. What remains is just fight faggotry. Oda's never been good at fights besides a few, and even then they are usually the least interesting things in One Piece. What I'm going into is a war where I feel nothing for the characters Oda's tried to make me care about, and the ones I normally do like the Strawhats, I know will come out of this ok like every other arc, but Oda's fucked up in engaging them and me to this conflict. Fuck Wano and fuck all dicksuckers who can't admit Oda fucked up.
