Fire Force: What went wrong?

Bland characters except for the sexy pink heroine.
Bland powers with no logical progression or relation to one another.
Based entirely on a dumb pun that's been done before.

I never got why I should care for any of the cast. What was I suppose to feel for any of the characters?

If Iris and Hibana were competing for the MC, then there would've been more interest.
