>Style over substance
Not at all, and I would know because style over substance annoys me to death (Madoka Rebellion being the worst offender). Everything that happens in Lain is there for a reason, stuff isn't there "just for symbolism" or whatever.
Honestly you might need to rewatch the show. Most people do.
Serial Experiments Lain
>hundreds
the farther back and more classic they are the fewer there are. Lain's one of the few.
Boring. Badly paced. Stupid.
Shonenfag-tier post
I mean it's kind of a rule that you have to be 18 or older to post here, so obviously we're not expecting people to only watch kid shows
ok reddit.
So what I am supposed to learn or understand from the series? That people are more than their consciousness and like having a body? That people aren't just what other people think of them? Because that's the two main point I got and they aren't anything special.
>ok boomer XD

A good take on observer theory and how technology could be used in a universe where it applies. It's not about giving messages as much as it is about telling a good story honestly.
But if there's one message to be taken from it it would be that no matter how powerful one can become due to technology, they shouldn't develop a god complex over it.
Lain > NGE when it comes to best 90s shows.
You can always still today find good/enjoyable theories about this show.
The only thing I don't like is the alien, it just makes things more complicated.
