Well the characters we follow are criminals, hardly anyone there has a goal or ideal that could be considered "heroic" and basically no one shows any real aversion to killing or even torturing people, fucking amazing that segment was. Killing enemies in Part 5 has basically the same effect as "retiring" people in Part 3.
