I liked the first season a lot. The social drama was a bit much for me. Also I can't stand their use of 3d with high frame-rate. It looks like Toy Story 3 all of a sudden. And when they were performing outside in season 2, they looked like the zombies from gakkou gurashi.
I really want to like kyoani's stuff (and I often do), but they make a lot of terrible decisions.

Not hidden and not that much of a gem. It's good but the script quality drops as the series goes on, the latest movie was a drag to watch and I fear the final movie/season will be straight up bad.
