Because the story isn't getting any deeper, only expanding sidewards. It has an infinitely sideward expandable formula, so it can go on forever until they get tired of it.

>It made Roger laugh
>Whatever it was, Roger said he and his crew were "too early" to collect on it, and was destined for someone specific, maybe
Also, Roger said "fuck it" and threw in his own treasure as well for whoever was able to eventually find it later.

Honestly it sounds like a time capsule of other people who have made it to Laugh Tale. I finally started reading One Piece and ngl its pretty dogshit. When's it supposed to get good? I heard some of the early arcs are bad, but I'm struggling to get through these chapters

It's fun to get drunk and watch Luffy inflate himself and have his fist be as strong as a giant despite that making no sense after work sometimes.

Also, I'm invested in Usopp becoming unironically god tier.

Water 7/Enies Lobby was fun, but I think you lose some of the impact if you skip straight to it, having seen everything with Usopp and Robin is important.

Everything Saboady was pretty good, the scene where the straw hats take the major L was pretty well done, if not a little weird because what feels like the very next scene Luffy is making dick jokes.

Post timeskip stuff has been decent if you skip the retardedly long backstory for each island conflict.
