If she got a fake friend or two, or even someone who hangs out with her out of pity, it would have been perfectly fine and believable. Tomoko finding more than one genuine friend in a single year is pushing my suspension of disbelief, despite this the Kyoto arc was my favorite. But having a pack of Stacies go crazy for her should be pushing even a normalfag's suspension of disbelief no matter how starry eyed they can get. Of course the majority of the current "fans" threw any semblance of realism out long ago happily, as they are only interested in shipping. Nico deciding to milk them is only natural and honestly the smart move. I just wish they'd end up doing this with one of their other failed story.

no, not really, this whole thing is simply unbelievable, because the only logical reason why did this happen is .
Its simply not how life works, there are Tomokos IRL too, and this kind of shit is easily pushed into adulthood. It happens so fast you don't even realize it. It just how life works, adulthood comes with a JCB loaded with problems dumping everything on your neck. Even in school if you weren't on good terms from the start this kind of shit that suddenly everyone is interested in you literally never happens, especially not if you are the 'ghost' type. You'll more likely end up with others who are like you, like Tomoko's first friend was before her change. Its also why you see the outcasts, the fat guys, the nerds and alike hanging with each other, while the big shots are a completely different group.
The Stacy will never fucking even bother to look at Becky, unless its bullying.

The "yandere harem" is just a bad joke anons who still care about the story made up, to cope with how absurd it got. Currently, "only" one or two girls are interested in her sexually. But it is undeniable that she became the center of attention because she is so "interesting", while in the past no matter what weird thing she did, her presence remained largely ignored.
