But that's the exact reason why 4 won. It was the closest to the cop out harem end without being one. In the end of the day, what negi wanted to write wasn't yotsuba no hanayome or ichikaninomiku no hanayome, it was a quintuplet mango. While I hate the ending, I get what negi was trying to go for.

The premise was and will always be one bride, that's what made it interesting.
But if you put it that way - personally I feel alternative timelines is fine for some cases, but the main timeline should always be established.
The way 22ui did it was more like, 5 equal timelines.
