This. We (and by that I mean my dad) used to own a 27m (88ft for burgerfags) steel yacht with aluminum rails. Maintanance, big parts of which were removing rust from the aluminium rails cost around €100k a year.

Galvanic Corrosion. Look it up. When Stainless steel (cathode) and aluminium (anode) are used together the aluminium deteriorates at a very fast rate. That's why I mentioned the boat itself being made of steel.
