Who else panic bought a gun? There was a lot of nervous energy in the store when I went a week ago and the guns were disappearing off the displays as I was there. There were a couple panicked store clerks who said they are too busy to stop and answer any questions, I just have to pick out a gun and start the paper work. Also they weren't selling ammo because they didn't have enough except with a sale of a firearm. I bought a S&W M&P 9 Shield and Glock 19.

Thought about it but I'm too self conscious to have people judge me as "look at this guy panic buying a gun", especially when I've never owned or fired a gun other than a .22 when I was a kid

I was about to but I started to realize how pointless it would be without being able to put range time in with it. You only really need a gun if you don't have a perimeter warning system, if you do you could just stand by the potential entry point with a bat, or sound some sort of siren. If shit really hits the fan and people are rioting through your neighborhood then that's a different story. I don't think it will get to that point though.

I started my license application in December, still probably a few months away from getting a firearm.
