The avengers is our high art and Mona lisa

>The avengers is our high art and Mona lisa
Yas Forums can't refute this

yes i can

Fucking hell, Bob is making more and more sense to me as the day's go on. I think I have a really big problem on my hand.

That's an understatement, it's our religion.

el consumer...

Superheros are the religious leaders of our times (and that's a good thing).

>characters inspired by mythology
>one even named thor
>>durr dis da modern day mythology
holy shit how do these people have followers?!

I'm confused, I thought kevin was a hardcore catholic?why is he making a comment a 15 year old atheist would say?

the renaissance paintings were exercises in godliness, of exaltation, of praise for god and the kingdom of heaven above us all and achieving reverence through the gift of craftmanship bestowed upon us by an almighty creator; the marvel universe is the same, but the god is disney

Is there anything more pathetic than becoming a devout Consumerist?

Isn't stuff compared to Renaissance art supposed to be pretty to look at?

>The avengers
>Mona Lisa
So...two pieces of art that became extremely famous for no particular reason and became associate with "good quality" because of that popularity?

Bob Chipman existing is good for my self-esteem.

>hardcore catholic
he is a reddit tier atheist

I'd consider the release of Super Mario Bros. 3 to be the Vietnam of my childhood, so I believe him.

Just like the pharaoh who built the sphynx. He wasn't noteworthy but he os remembered

I am not a collective, I am an individual. Some people can only think of themselves as group members, they say things like Avengers are OUR art. They have no personal views of their own.

The art I like is the art I like, there is no art our likes.

wouldn't it be cool if Thor was a religion

Bob Chipman is also a former Catholic. Is there a correlation between being a fat retard consumer and being raised a catholic?

To be fair, same happened in real mythology. Syncretism is a massive part of religion especially old pagans.
The difference is mythology is/was genuinely believed and has actual cultural impact. Capeshit is no more modern myth than star wars, GoT, or hunger games and can be undone when fans just lose interest.

Look at the current "Pope" and you'll find your answer. The Catholic church is compromised.

in the centre of the venn diagram is the word "american"

reading this unironically made me feel physically unwell for a moment

>commissioned by rich institutions
that alone means they're fucking nothing like capeshit that's meant to appeal to the lower-classes.

a better analogy would be to say they're like Shakespeare but even then most of Shakespeare's best work was intended for royalty.

Based and christpilled

>that alone means they're fucking nothing like capeshit that's meant to appeal to the lower-classes.
I'm not agreeing with movieblob, but are you implying that Disney isn't a rich institution?

it's rich people making art for poor people, which is the absolute opposite of what Blob is saying.

the Mona Lisa became popular because it's good and because we don't know who it is.

>incredibly exclusive pieces of artwork funded by patron nobility that very intentionally created the art as private collections separate from the masses that would not respect the work
>literal mass media made and marketed so that everyone will watch it, and funded by everyone going to see it

Modern catholicism is a religion for cream puffs. When I was in catholic elementary school in the 90's we were told that even Hitler would go to heaven if he repented. If you have a religion with no consequence or principles then what's stopping the flock from doing whatever they want?

He isn't wrong. This is zoolenial Mona Lisa, which perfectly demonstrates just how utterly shit these generations are.
Just globs of pointless consumerist retards that will leave behind absolutely nothing worth to talk about.

What does Avengers say about humanity and life? What does it say about the collective and individual human experience?

if you can't see the difference between rich lords personally choosing to patron artists and commission private works, and mega-corporations that market by selling to everyone, you deserve to be a peasant tending a feudal stable

the art of the renaissance was nothing like the art of today, you can try to pseudo-intellectual and try to act like *really* there's no difference between manorialism having serfs and modern society built on hypnotized consoomers, but there's an infinite chasm of difference between the upper class creating art which they sometimes choose to share with the masses, and media aimed at and funded by the massed

>I... am Iron Man.
Powerful.

Mona Lisa became popular because it was stolen, it became big news and once it was recovered everyone wanted to know about the stolen painting. So many people saw it because of that it that the painting became famous.
It's like if you find a lost episode of...iunno, the Simpsons? And then that episode suddenly becomes one of the most famous ones in TV history.
It's still pretty good, as expect from Da Vinci, but the reason why it got THIS popular was purely coincidental and has nothing to do with the actual quality of it.

Why are we arguning over some retarded fag browsing twitter and saw OP's pic related, and thought
>This will get me Iron man numbers! Anons will surly aruge over this!
The tweet only has 50 retweets so its stupid to even argue it, ignoring the fact its just a twitter screen shot. OP should be killed and banned.
Not even slightly Yas Forums related too.

I hope Bob dies from eating his garbage-bag marinated chicken

>newfag exposes himself immediately and then tells everyone what is and isn't Yas Forums

>garbage-bag marinated chicken
Holy shit, I need to see this.
