Take this with a grain of salt, but there's a rumor circulating that they set up Oswald as Nygma's secret employer, banking on people's knowledge of the Penguin being one of Batman's greatest foes, and pull the rug by revealing that this Oswald is an abrasive, but otherwise law-abiding citizen, and that the real mastermind is someone else: Either Bruce's girlfriend Bella or Peter Sarsgard's character, D.A. Gil Colson.
sounds crappy but it all depends on exectution. if it is a moody neo-noir detective story instead of flashy capeshit full of quips and cgi then there is hope. the sooner they kill DCEU and focus on movies like this, the better fuck superman and other ridiculous alien/magic characters, batman's villain gallery is enough to create a series of movies thqat will turn capeshit around
