We live in a timeline where Iron Man and Captain America are bigger icons than Batman and Superman.

I see no problem with this.
Black Widow is as well known as Wonder Woman.
DC could've had this if they weren't utterly incompetent
Then again, there's no way they could adapt Batman in a way that makes sense
>This secretive vigilante has all the top of the line technology that just happens to line up perfectly with Wayne Enterprises R&D, and if you ever tracked him you'd see all his jets and boats and cars come from and return to the cave underneath the Wayne mansion
Like, come on. You can't make him not a secretive vigilante without losing a big part of Batman's character, and you can't make him being a vigilante make sense without severely downgrading his tech.
He doesn't have to make sense. Throw realism out the window and make a pulp gothic Batflick like Burton/BTAS or campy like Schumacher/West.
People don't have the chance to sit down and analyse his technology, a lot people actually think Batman is a monster or some kind of specter.
He also keeps himself in shadow and stays away from cameras (this is why I've always fucking hated portrayals that have Batman making public appearances as part of the JL)
See, this is why MCU was a massive success. It actually changed the formula, adapted in attempt to make the setting more realistic and compelling, instead of relying on "just turn your brain off!"
Captain America and Iron Man are straight up better characters then Batman and Superman.
Superman is an overpowered bitch that once he gets his act together, he becomes unstoppable. That is why Hollywood keeps recycling his origin story because that is the only part when he is actualy faced with a challenge.
Same goes for Batman who may not be stupidly overpowered in physical might, but is still a Gary Stue when it comes to wealth, knowledge, abilities, technology etc.
Then there is the whole stupid "hidden" identity part of it all, everyone knows who Captain America and Iron Man is but for some bizzare reason, Superman and Batman hide their true identity even though that is not needed at all.
Nolan's trilogy already did that gritty realistic take on capeshit
>just turn your brain off
Yeah it might seem that way but going full Fantasy is the only way Batman works

Pretty much this. They didn't have the vision to create a connected cinematic universe.
