Depends on merchandising, doesn't it? Star Wars was such a powerful brand for so long (and still potentially is) because of how all the cool stuff they could merchandise. It may have a bit more staying power if they do something similar for the ornitopters, worms, Sardaukwar, etc.

Yes, but under the considerably more bizarre and unique and alienating (to normeis, at least) directing style of David Lynch. The movie is liable to simply feel like a more cerebral Star Wars.

After the promo pics I'm prepping myself for the possibily that it will be shit as an adaption (Liet's death is supposedly totally different) but something I'll have fun with as a separate film. It won't reach the heights it could have but I'll be entertained.
