There's not going to be a Plinkett review of ROS because Mike and everyone else has moved on. Plinkett reviews were always more of a passion project so why would he spend months examining and editorializing a film he and the audience at large have zero interest in.
ROS has no grand ambitions so they can't be riffered on, they didn't aim high and fail, they did exactly what they were there to do, extract another ten bucks from your pocket and end the current trilogy

I think the audience feels like they're definitely owed it. And how can you say Disney had no grand ambitions for Star Wars? Remember how there was supposed to be another trilogy and all these spin off projects? ROS put the final nail in that coffin.

Artistically they have no great design, there is no unified vision for what sort of story should be told.
They just wanted to close the book on this trilogy and trilogy and move on. Unfortunately they left the franchise in shambles so they're going to have to step back for a few years and let the stink dissipate a bit before they try again.
