if a person doesn't like horror movies they will rationalize it however they want, you can't win. plus, nobody wants to get scared right now anyway, real life is scarier than any movie

Yeah, but they have to be very visceral and "scare" oriented. Slow-burns and psychological horrors usually miss the mark.
