Enough about the big franchises. Get in here and make anons aware of some underseen and underappreciated classics goddamnit.
I'll start us off with a good one. I definitely recommend picking up the blu as all previous versions feature an EXTREMELY murky picture quality. Here it still has nice dark atmosphere that the movie intended but you can ...ya know..SEE what's going on. Anyways this is one of the better and spookier backwoods/camping slashers I think. Very minimal but has a good tone to it. Killer is very menacing.
Here's another. So bad its good 80's cheese masterpiece. As a bonus it's made by the dynamic duo of Charles In Charges brother and the fat fuck that buttfucked Corey Haim.
Also this one. I read nothing but poor reviews for it growing up, but it's not too shabby! Nice dark atmosphere throughout and the killer, while just some guy, is spoooky enough.
I remember not being an fan of this one overall but that it had some pretty damn good music.
Bentley Wright
yeah they seem to be pretty obscure im trying to remember all the ones i used to rent at Hollywood Video and other local video shops in the 2000-2010 decade, god what i wouldnt give for video stores to still be around fuck i miss it
Jacob Phillips
>>It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent's Fritters.
Didn't find it as great as a few websites made it out to be, but it was still a perfectly serviceable supernatural slasher with a couple of wild scenes, like the police station massacre.
I hear that. I lived in a small town that had a ma and pop video shop that had a SPECTACULAR horror selection. All kinds of rarities. Such awesome times. I remember the first movie i rented from them. This isn't exactly rare but i wouldn't call it normalfag material by any means. Saw this one all by myself one night because the folks were out of town on some sort of business what have you. Actually spooked me the fuck out. I still consider it a great Giallo/Slasher hybrid.
the mom and pop places always had the best horror. i found a website that lists the ones still left in america im fucking tempted to do a roadtrip to some of the ones near me
Colton Gray
I remember liking this one at a theatre camp. It was kind of a musical.
I wanted to see this one for years just because of the shameless Michael Myers clone. Turns out it's not so much a Halloween clone in style but more a Giallo/Thriller with some slashy stuff thrown in. I wanted full on stalking scenes and everything lol. Not bad though from what I remember. It's been a while.
Xavier Price
Good atmosphere here and a nice grindhouse feel but i felt pretty bored by it, even if it's a bit nastier than one might expect.
Brody Hernandez
Welcome to Corner Video Store, user! How can I help you?
Absolutely. Which is funny because they were a terrible company that released shitty looking censored prints but still an essential part of childhood horror rentals. I first saw a nearly unwatchable copy of The Final Terror from TEMI.
Girls "Nite" Out kicks ass btw. That last shot is pretty chilling lol
Lucas Moore
one of the first movies to use internet chatting as a plot device. also the main girl in it was a cute, i was disappointed to look her up on IMDB and see she never did another other movies
