It was jaws before jawa, but with the knowledge that the creature doesnt exist whats there really to be afraid of?
Millennials were afraid of this.
It’s called empathizing with the characters being portrayed on the screen, it’s something non-autistic people do.
Boomers were afraid of this.
I was afraid of it as a kid. There was a murky lake me and my cousins used to swim in and I always imagined this guy grabbing for our legs
>Zoomers: OMG THIS MOVIE IS SO SCARY
>Token female BLACKED™ character: vagina go brrrrrrrr
Is this the movie where nothing happens for like an hour and a half?
it chills my bones for an hour and a half is what it does
the scariest things in movies when I was a kid was large marge and that german guy from indiana jones turning into a skeleton
It was a metaphor for miscegenation, the monster represented ugly foreigners who would try to steal our women.
And now that our society has degenerated, we see the trope being inverted. In the Shape of Water the monster is sympathetic and instead of running away the woman willingly fucks stinky fishman because modern women are whores.
It was a cautionary tale, and we didn't listen.
I saw the exorcist on DVD soon after it got re-released in 2000. I was in 3rd grade and going to Sunday school at the time. It shocked me so much I stopped going to Sunday school, and thus never got my first communion, because I the whole god vs Satan thing was too much for me. It really confused my catholic side.
>people today are desensitized that they're not frightened by this
honestly it's sad
people today watch the most gruesome and perverted acts of violence before hitting puberty even
Zoomers thought this was romantic and gave it an Oscar.
boomer kino was comfy and fun
zoomer kino is annoying and stupid
>creature from the bbc lagoon
the creature was a fill in for blacks and interracial marriage
lmao i watched the exorcist when i was like 11 after hearing about how it was the scariest movie ever. i liked the movie but you have to be one massive twat to actually get frightened by it
You're afraid of women.
Boomers had more soul than zoomers ever will
along with The Babadook, Midsommar etc.
no you lad
I cried a little when a saw it
That's bullshit, but I believe it.
Not really. They enjoyed it in a way zoomers enjoy capeshit or Avatar or something. The main selling point of the movie were one of the kind underwater scenes.
yes
if you dont like it why not shoot up the oscars you worthless boomer
>zoomers think living in the woods is scary
Go outside INCEL.
All of those movies were fucking garbage, you guys should check out Elijah Wood's new production studio. He has some ok movies coming out that are mostly horror themed.
Well boomers actually went outside to the lake and stuff so yeah
This. Boomers are actually just afraid of black people.
Those fish monsters were all rapists. Remember how 1 in 4 women get raped. I'd be afraid too if I was woman.
